Overnight Care
Overnight care places a carer in your loved one’s home from evening until morning, to provide reassurance, safety, and support through the hours when families often worry most. Depending on the level of need, the carer may sleep at the property and be available if called, or remain awake throughout the night.
Overnight care suits older people who are anxious about being alone at night, who are at risk of falls, who have unpredictable conditions such as dementia or epilepsy, or who simply sleep more easily knowing someone is there. It also gives family carers — a spouse, an adult child — the chance of an uninterrupted night’s sleep.
A sleeping night suits clients who are mostly settled overnight but who need someone in the house just in case — perhaps in case of a fall, confusion, or a need for help to the bathroom. The carer sleeps at the property and is available to respond if called.
Call us on 07894 649 565 to discuss whether a sleeping or waking night arrangement is right. We will match you with a carer experienced in overnight work and arrange a first night within a few days.
A waking night is appropriate when a client needs more active overnight support — frequent toileting, repositioning, medication, or close monitoring due to a medical condition. The carer remains awake throughout the night and provides continuous attentive support.
